About these games

Visual Sequence Memory

Visual Sequence Memory highlights positions in a three-by-three grid. Watch their order and reproduce it on the same grid. Each correct sequence extends the next round by one flash.

How to play Visual Sequence Memory

  • Start with a sequence of two highlighted tiles. Each tile is illuminated for a short interval, in order.
  • When the highlights stop, repeat the same positions by tapping or clicking tiles. During recall you may also use keyboard digits 1 through 9.
  • A completely correct sequence advances to a longer one. The game ends when you select an incorrect position or finish all eleven levels.

Scoring

The score is the number of full sequences you completed correctly in this run, from 0 to 11. It is not a population percentile or a standardized memory score. Recent results and personal bests are stored only in this browser.

Why the sequence feels different from digit memory

This game asks you to remember a spatial pattern of positions rather than a printed sequence of digits. Adjacent flashes always use different tiles so each transition remains visible. Playback has a fixed flash interval, but there is no response countdown.

Limitations and accessibility

Screen size, color perception, browser rendering, distractions, and input method all affect a practice session. Highlighted positions are a visual stimulus; users who cannot perceive the highlights may not be able to play the same task. Keyboard operation is supported during recall. No clinical, IQ, or cognitive-improvement interpretation is intended.
